Run classes in DoulaOne.
Registration, payment, and reminders.

Group work such as antenatal classes, postnatal circles, or hypnobirthing courses can be a steady income alongside one-to-one care. Events keep the booking page, payments, guest list, and reminders in the same place as your clients.

Create and publish

Running classes through a separate booking tool means another login, another fee, and attendee details that never reach your client records. An event in DoulaOne gets a branded page, takes payment through your connected Stripe account, and keeps the guest list next to your clients.

  1. Open Events and create an event. On Starter, you will see an upgrade prompt, because events are part of Pro.
  2. Add the title, description, dates, timezone, and location. For online events, DoulaOne can create a Google Meet or Zoom link.
  3. Add sessions if it runs over several dates, and set the capacity. Choose a background and accent colour so the page matches your brand.
  4. Publish, then share the event link or download the QR code for posters.

Events

Registration and payment

Asking the right questions at sign-up saves chasing details later. Taking payment upfront reduces no-shows.

  • Make an event free or paid. For paid events, you can require payment to register.
  • Set when registration opens and closes.
  • Collect a last name, phone number, and due date, and add up to eight questions of your own.
  • Tag attendees, and turn on Auto-add attendees as clients if you want them in your client list. On Starter, these count towards the 10-client limit.
  • Let someone bring a guest, and set a maximum number of guests. Guests count towards capacity.

Events

Waitlist, cancellations, and refunds

A full class with no waitlist loses bookings when someone drops out. Clear cancellation rules also save difficult conversations about refunds.

  • Turn on Allow waitlist when full. When a place opens, use Offer seat to invite the next person.
  • Write your cancellation policy, and choose whether attendees can cancel for themselves.
  • Set an automatic refund window. If a paid attendee cancels inside it, they are refunded their payment minus the card processing fee. Outside it, only their place is cancelled.
  • If you change the date, time, or place, you can email everyone registered about the change.

Events

Reminders and attendance

A reminder the day before reduces no-shows, especially for evening classes booked weeks in advance.

  • Registrants get a confirmation email as soon as they sign up.
  • Turn on an automatic reminder, choose how many hours before it sends, and add a note, such as what to bring. You can also send a reminder manually.
  • After the event, use Mark attended on the attendee list, and set a follow-up task if you want to contact attendees afterwards.

Availability

Keep one-to-one bookings clear

Turn on Block my 1:1 availability during this event and those hours are hidden from your meeting links and Book a call. Nobody can book a home visit in the middle of your class. Drop-in sessions, duplicating an event, and sharing with clients came later. See Drop-in sessions and Proposals, reminders, and repeat events.
