Send it signed.
List everything you do.
This update removes a few everyday workarounds. You no longer need to open a client just to send an agreement, or leave a contract unsigned on your side. Your listing can show both of your professions. Postnatal and class clients stop cluttering your on-call calendar.
Contracts
Send a contract from Contracts
When you have several agreements to send after a busy week of consultations, going into each client first slows you down. You can now send from the Contracts page itself, choosing the client and the wording in one dialog. Sending from a client's page still works exactly as before.
- Open Contracts and click Send to client.
- Choose the Client. Under Start from, pick a blank agreement, one of your saved templates, or one of DoulaOne's contract templates.
- Check the Title and Agreement text. Any changes apply to this client only. Your saved template stays as it is.
- Confirm who receives it. You can copy the email to someone else, and add the partner's address in one click if it is on the client record.
- Send. A toast confirms it, with a link to open that client.
On Pro you can schedule the email for later, for example first thing in the morning rather than the moment you finish at 11pm. The options for backup cover consent and a welcome email on signing sit in the same dialog.
Contracts
Add your own signature
A contract signed by both sides is clearer for everyone. It shows the family you have committed to the terms too, and it gives you a complete record without printing and scanning. You now sign before you send, and the family signs after you.
- In the contract dialog, find Add your signature.
- Type your full legal name. That is what signs the agreement. Drawing a signature is optional, and it appears on the signing page and the PDF.
- Tick Remember this signature for next time to reuse it. Next time you can choose Use saved signature or Draw a new signature.
- Send. The family's signing page shows it as Signed by your doula (or your saved profession), with your name and the date, above the space where they sign.
If you edit the title or the agreement text after signing, your signature is cleared. Sign again before sending, so you never appear to have signed wording you later changed.
Directory
Add a secondary profession
Many birth workers offer more than one service: a doula who also teaches hypnobirthing, or a lactation consultant who runs baby massage. Until now the directory only knew about one of them, so families searching for the other never found you. A second profession puts you in both searches. That means more enquiries without a second listing.
- Open Directory and find How families find you.
- Make sure Primary profession is set. This is what families see first, and the directory will not list you without it.
- Choose a Secondary profession. It must be different from your primary one. Leave it on None if you only offer one kind of support.
- Click Save search details.
Families filtering Find by either profession will now see your card, and your profile shows both. You can also edit these fields from the directory section of your public page.
Clients
Turn off the on-call period
The on-call calendar is how you avoid taking two births in the same week, so it only works if it is accurate. A postnatal client, a class attendee, or a feeding consultation should not show up as a birth you might be called to. Those false clashes can make you turn down work you actually have room for.
- Open the client and choose Edit, or add a new client.
- Switch off On-call period.
- Save. That client no longer appears in your on-call window or on-call list.
On-call is still on by default, so birth clients need no change. Their due date stays on the record either way. When on-call is on, you can still set a custom window for one client if they need a different span from your workspace default.
Clients marked Lost or archived now leave the on-call calendar automatically too, so they no longer overlap with families you are actively supporting.
Visual editor
Format your writing
Families skim. A package description or class page that is one long paragraph hides the fee, the dates, and what is included. The visual editor lets you add structure so the important details stand out, without learning any code.
It is now used for your public page About section, package descriptions, event descriptions, contract templates, and proposal notes and terms. You can add headings, bold, italics, underline, bullet and numbered lists, links, and your brand colour. What you see in the editor is what the family sees.
Calendar invites and the proposal email still receive clean plain text, so nothing arrives with stray symbols or broken formatting.
