Tax for your province.
e-Transfer they already use.

A Canadian client expects the tax for their province on the invoice, and a way to pay that is not a card. The invoice can say where to send the e-Transfer, and the receipt can go out once it has arrived.

Settings

Set the province and the tax number

  1. Open Settings and set Country to Canada.
  2. Choose the Province or territory. The tax rate follows that choice, including QST in Quebec.
  3. Add your GST/HST number on the business profile if you are registered. It prints on the invoice with your other business details.

Take Interac e-Transfer

  1. In invoice defaults, add your Interac e-Transfer email and save.
  2. Turn on autodeposit with your bank, so clients do not need a security question.
  3. The invoice tells them where to send the money, and to put the invoice number in the message.
  4. When it arrives, mark the invoice paid by e-Transfer. On a paid invoice, Download receipt or Email receipt.

Card payments through Stripe stay optional. Marketing email to Canadian clients includes an unsubscribe link, and a client who unsubscribes is not emailed again.
