I’m Charlotte, The Smart Doula, and I provide virtual doula support for women who want to feel informed, confident and firmly in control of their pregnancy and birth.
Many of the women I support know they want something different.
Sometimes they have had a difficult or traumatic birth before and want to approach this pregnancy feeling more prepared and more powerful in their choices.
Sometimes they are pregnant for the first time and already feel overwhelmed by conflicting advice, appointments, classes, podcasts, social media and endless information online.
My role is to reduce that noise.
Virtual doula support means you have someone knowledgeable in your corner throughout pregnancy, wherever you are in the UK. We can talk from your sofa, message when questions come up and prepare together before appointments, decisions and conversations with your care team.
I help you understand your options, explore the evidence, work out what matters most to you and feel confident speaking up for yourself.
Before becoming a doula, I completed a Biomedical Science degree and spent more than 10 years working in clinical research. I trained as a birth and postnatal doula with The Red Tent Doulas and I am also a hypnobirthing teacher and traditional postpartum doula.
My approach is warm, practical, evidence based and completely individual.
I will never tell you how to give birth or what decision to make. My job is to give you the information, support and space you need to make choices that feel right for you.
Virtual doula support is not less than in person support. It is simply different. It is flexible, accessible and designed to fit around real life.
