Doula & Antenatal Educator

Lisa Harris Doula

I’m Lisa, a birth and postnatal doula based in Wimbledon. I’m passionate about physiological birth and helping families feel informed, confident and supported. I don’t believe there’s one “right” way to give birth, but I do believe every family deserves to make informed choices.

About

Becoming a mother changed the course of my life. It showed me just how much the birth experience can shape the way families begin life together, and how powerful it is to have someone beside you who offers consistent, compassionate support without judgement. I became a doula because I wanted to be that person for other families.

I’m passionate about physiological birth and love helping families understand how birth works, prepare well and create the best conditions for it to unfold. But I don’t believe there’s one “right” way to give birth. For me, what matters most is that you understand your options, feel listened to and respected, and are able to make informed decisions that feel right for you and your family.

Before becoming a doula, I worked as an NHS Occupational Therapist. I went on to train as a birth and postnatal doula and an accredited antenatal educator. I’ve also worked with the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists as a Lay Examiner and am now a Lead Educator with The Perinatal Academy.

My approach is evidence-informed but always personal. I love reading research and translating it into practical, balanced information, while also helping families listen to their own instincts. Whether you're planning a homebirth, birth centre or hospital birth, hoping for a straightforward physiological birth or facing decisions you hadn't anticipated, I’ll be there with calm, practical and wholehearted support.

I especially enjoy supporting first-time parents, families hoping for a different experience after a previous birth, and partners who want to feel confident and involved too. Above all, I want you to feel that you have someone completely in your corner.
