Doula & Antenatal Educator

Laura Wynn Doula

I'm a birth doula, pregnancy and postnatal yoga teacher and antenatal educator based in Abergavenny, Monmouthshire. I'm also a mum of three, and it's my own very different birth experiences that inspired me to support other women through one of life's biggest transitions.

About

My approach to birth support

I believe every woman deserves to feel safe, heard, respected and supported throughout pregnancy and birth, whatever kind of birth she is planning.

My role isn't to tell you how to give birth or what decisions to make. It's to help you understand your options, connect with your instincts and feel confident making choices that are right for you and your baby.

I bring together evidence-based information with practical, hands-on support, including breathing techniques, movement, birth biomechanics, rebozo techniques and relaxation.

I'm particularly passionate about helping birth partners feel confident and involved, so that you can work together as a team. I can help you explore your preferences, communicate your wishes and navigate decisions, while supporting you to advocate for yourself and ensuring your voice remains central to your care.

How I can support you

During pregnancy, we'll spend time getting to know one another, exploring your hopes, concerns and preferences for birth. We'll work through practical birth preparation, discuss different scenarios and build a toolkit of techniques that you and your birth partner can draw upon during labour.

During birth, I'll provide continuous emotional, physical and practical support. Whether that's offering reassurance, helping you find comfortable positions, supporting your breathing, creating a calm environment or simply holding space while you focus on birthing your baby.

I support all types of birth, including home births, hospital births, inductions, births with epidurals and caesarean births. I believe that a positive birth isn't defined by how your baby arrives, but by how supported, informed and respected you feel throughout the experience.

And my support doesn't end when your baby arrives. I recognise how significant the transition into motherhood can be. The postnatal period deserves just as much care, compassion and attention as pregnancy and birth.

A little more about me

Alongside my doula work, I teach pregnancy yoga and postnatal mum and baby yoga, and run antenatal education and practical birth partner workshops.

My approach is gentle, down-to-earth and nurturing. I'll bring calm when things feel overwhelming, practical support when you need it and a reassuring presence throughout.

Above all, I want you to look back on your birth knowing that you were listened to, that your choices mattered and that you never felt alone.

If you're looking for a doula who will take the time to really get to know you, support your choices and walk alongside you through pregnancy, birth and beyond, I'd love to hear from you.
