I’m Mon, the heart behind Golden Hour Doula & Photography Perth.
My path into this work came through my own experiences of pregnancy, birth, motherhood and learning just how much the way a woman is supported can shape how she remembers those seasons of her life. I’ve experienced birth in different settings and with different models of care, and those experiences gave me a deep appreciation for continuity, informed choice, calm support and having someone beside you who truly listens.
Through Golden Hour, I support women and families through pregnancy, birth and the early postpartum period with warm, evidence-based and non-judgemental doula care. My role is not to tell you how to birth, but to help you feel informed, heard, prepared and supported in the choices that are right for you. I also love supporting partners, helping them feel confident and involved rather than unsure of what to do.
Alongside doula work, photography is a huge part of what I love. I photograph maternity, birth, newborn and family stories in a natural, emotional and honest way. I want your images to feel like you — not stiff or overly posed, but full of connection, tenderness and the little moments you’ll want to remember years from now.
I’m based in Yangebup and work with families across Perth’s southern suburbs. Whether I’m holding space for you through labour, helping you prepare for birth, supporting you in the early days with your baby, or capturing your family as it grows, my goal is always the same: for you to feel genuinely cared for, comfortable and supported.
Golden Hour was created from a simple belief — mothers deserve to be held too.
