About

About Me I've been drawn to the power of birth since I was little. I have no idea why, it just always pulled at me. I nearly trained as a midwife, but it didn't take long to realise that wasn't quite the path for me. Then I had my own two births, and neither was supported the way it should have been. After spending a lot of time unpicking those stories and doing lots of reading I came across the role of a doula. But if I'm honest, the doulas I saw back then were all flowing robes and incense that didn't look or feel like me. I was a girl from a council estate in Doncaster. I didn't think I'd fit in, so I let the idea go. Instead, I became a youth worker, supporting young people and their families through some genuinely hard stuff. Later, after moving to Norfolk, I spent years working as an early years educator. Alongside that, I trained as a massage therapist and built a business over 16 years specialising in sports, antenatal, and postnatal massage. It was listening to birth stories the good, the hard, the ones that stuck with people for years that lit the fire again. I trained as a hypnobirthing instructor, and in 2021 I trained as a doula. Since then, my business, knowledge, and skills have grown and grown. I've gone on to train in biomechanics for birth, completed Rachel Reed's childbirth course, and become a doula mentor with The Original Birth Connection — supporting the next generation of doulas coming through. Attending a huge amount of births along the way. I even had the privilege to support my own daughter when she birthed my gorgeous Grandson. ❤️ My Training

I am always honest and open and will share with you the evidence, the options, the stuff that nobody else tells you so you can make the choices that are right for you. Whatever birth you're planning, whatever's happened before, I'm in your corner to hold, soothe, advocate and support you in any way you need me to. Always with a laugh and a whole load of love.
